Bruins, Sabres to square off in key Northeast clash

Hockey Betting Lines

03/29/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Buffalo Sabres will try to inch closer to a Northeast Division title tonight, when they visit TD Garden and the Boston Bruins, who are trying to hold onto one of the Eastern Conference's final playoff positions.

The Sabres have already locked up a postseason bid thanks to Saturday's 7-1 rout of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Buffalo missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons and is aiming for its first division title since 2007. Buffalo has a five-point edge over second-place Ottawa in the Northeast standings with eight contests to play and two games in hand.

Derek Roy's fourth career hat trick sparked the Sabres on Saturday, while Patrick Lalime made 22 saves to snap a personal four-start losing streak and earn the 200th win of his NHL career.

"I've been saying this for a while, that the guys in this room are a good group and pretty close together and can't wait to get started," said Lalime, who earned his first victory since Dec. 29. "You need everyone to be on the same page once the playoffs start."

Jason Pominville posted a goal and two assists for the Sabres, who picked up their fifth victory in their last six games. Adam Mair, Paul Gaustad and Jochen Hecht also tallied.

Buffalo plays three of its next four on the road and has won three straight as the guest.

Boston, meanwhile, wraps up a three-game homestand tonight. After a loss to the Lightning last Thursday, the Bruins responded by besting the Calgary Flames, 5-0, on Saturday. Tim Thomas made his first start in six games and notched a 31-save shutout, his fifth of the season and 17th of his career.

"I didn't really know what to expect," said Thomas, who was making his first start since March 15, "but the team came out so strong in front of me and did a really good job of making me feel comfortable and that helped a lot."

The Bruins entered the game 0-for-22 on the man advantage in their previous eight games before David Krejci, Zdeno Chara and Dennis Seidenberg each scored on the power play. Patrice Bergeron and Mark Recchi tallied 1:27 apart in the third period for Boston, which has won three of its last four games and holds a two-point edge over ninth-place Atlanta. The club also trails Montreal and Philadelphia by two points in the East standings.

The Bruins have won three of four versus the Sabres this year, posting a 3-2 shootout victory in the last meeting at Buffalo on Feb. 9. Krejci had the winner in the fourth round for the Bruins, who have won three of their last four at home over the Sabres.

Super Bowl XLIII Betting - Super Bowl 2009

Super Bowl 2009, the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds and the betting line and figure out where they’ve been and where they are going to go.

MySportsbook.com put up the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds late on Sunday night with the Pittsburgh Steelers favored by 6.5 points and a total betting line at 47.5 points.

Since then, however, the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds have seen a good deal of movement and you’ll want to be on top of where they are likely to move to make sure you get the best line value for the big game.

Since opening, the Super Bowl 2009 betting lines went to Steelers -7 in the span of roughly 3 hours but were quickly bought back down just minutes later to 6.5 again.

After that is took about 5-6 more hours before the betting line went back to -7 where it has sat for a while now and is likely to remain. The opening betting total of 47.5 was bet down right after the line became available and went to 47 within minutes.

Roughly a day later it has been bet even further down to the 46.5 tally it currently is set at.

Roughly 60% of gamblers seem to be on the Cardinals here so the point spread will be bet down and a 7.5 would not last very long at all with many taking the early 6.5 in hopes of finding a potential middle in the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds.

If you like Arizona and see a 7.5, I’d take it as soon as possible because it’s unlikely to last. For Pittsburgh backers, the -7 might be the best you’ll be able to find but a 6.5 is definitely possible close to game time.

Regarding the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds for the total, most tracked gamblers are already on the over and with those who took the under 47.5 already securing a middle on the over 46.5, the only way I see it moving is back up to 47 so if you like the over, I’d recommend betting now.
