Twins close long road trip in Arlington

Baseball Betting Lines

05/23/2007 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Minnesota Twins attempt to conclude a lengthy road trip on a high note in this afternoon's rubber match of a three-game series with the host Texas Rangers.

Minnesota got this nine-game trek off to a disappointing start, as the club lost three consecutive matchups to division-rival Cleveland before regrouping to take two of three interleague encounters from the National League Central- leading Milwaukee Brewers.

These teams have split the first two meetings of this set. Texas rolled to a 14-4 victory in Monday's opener, but the Twins rebounded behind ace Johan Santana and first baseman Justin Morneau last night.

Morneau, the reigning American League MVP, belted a pair of home runs and finished with five RBI, while 2006 AL Cy Young winner Santana was brilliant over seven innings in Minnesota's 7-1 triumph on Tuesday.

Santana (5-4) broke a personal two-start losing streak by allowing just one run and four hits while racking up a season-high 13 strikeouts. The only run the All-Star left-hander yielded came on a solo homer by Sammy Sosa, the 598th of the veteran slugger's career.

Texas, which had amassed 28 runs over its last two games, recorded just five hits on the evening.

Torii Hunter contributed a two-run homer to help the Twins snap a two-game slide.

Rangers starter Kameron Loe (1-4) was touched for five runs on eight hits over the first six innings to suffer the loss.

Boof Bonser, who delivered a Santana-like performance in his most recent start, will take the mound for Minnesota in today's finale. The second-year hurler dominated the Brewers last Friday, holding Milwaukee to one run and three hits while striking out a career-high 11 batters in seven innings to pace the Twins to an 8-1 victory.

The 25-year-old has posted a 2.10 earned run average over his last five starts and has not lost since a 10-1 setback to the Yankees on April 10.

Bonser faced the Rangers once as a rookie in 2006 and came away on the losing end of a 10-2 decision at the Metrodome last August. He was charged with seven runs (four earned) and lasted only four innings in that game.

Texas' Robinson Tejeda is also coming off a good last start, as the right- hander limited Houston to a run and only two hits in five innings to pick up his fourth win of the season on Friday.

Tejeda, who gets the call for the Rangers this afternoon, had lost back-to- back outings prior to Friday's game and was rocked for six runs over 3 2/3 innings against the Yankees two starts back.

The native Dominican has never previously faced Minnesota and brings a 1-2 record with a 4.38 ERA in four home starts this season into today's tilt.

Texas won five of its nine matchups with the Twins a year ago and is 12-8 against them since the start of the 2005 campaign. Minnesota is 7-8 in its last 15 trips to Arlington.

Super Bowl XLIII Betting - Super Bowl 2009

Super Bowl 2009, the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds and the betting line and figure out where they’ve been and where they are going to go.

MySportsbook.com put up the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds late on Sunday night with the Pittsburgh Steelers favored by 6.5 points and a total betting line at 47.5 points.

Since then, however, the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds have seen a good deal of movement and you’ll want to be on top of where they are likely to move to make sure you get the best line value for the big game.

Since opening, the Super Bowl 2009 betting lines went to Steelers -7 in the span of roughly 3 hours but were quickly bought back down just minutes later to 6.5 again.

After that is took about 5-6 more hours before the betting line went back to -7 where it has sat for a while now and is likely to remain. The opening betting total of 47.5 was bet down right after the line became available and went to 47 within minutes.

Roughly a day later it has been bet even further down to the 46.5 tally it currently is set at.

Roughly 60% of gamblers seem to be on the Cardinals here so the point spread will be bet down and a 7.5 would not last very long at all with many taking the early 6.5 in hopes of finding a potential middle in the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds.

If you like Arizona and see a 7.5, I’d take it as soon as possible because it’s unlikely to last. For Pittsburgh backers, the -7 might be the best you’ll be able to find but a 6.5 is definitely possible close to game time.

Regarding the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds for the total, most tracked gamblers are already on the over and with those who took the under 47.5 already securing a middle on the over 46.5, the only way I see it moving is back up to 47 so if you like the over, I’d recommend betting now.
